Pool Design & Construction

Start with the site. Build from there.

A good pool plan accounts for more than a shape on a drawing. It considers how equipment reaches the property, where water moves, what the house sees, how people move through the yard and where decks, coping, hardscape and planting will meet the pool.

Concrete / Gunite

Maximum freedom in shape, depth and detail.

Concrete and gunite pools are the premium custom option when a property calls for a tailored footprint, integrated features, a specific depth profile or a finish that relates closely to the house and surrounding hardscape. The pool is formed around the project—not selected from a fixed shell.

Vinyl Liner

A versatile custom pool for everyday use.

Vinyl liner pools remain a strong option for homeowners who want a quality custom inground pool with flexible shapes and a comfortable finish. The right result still depends on sound site planning, clear construction details and a thoughtful relationship to the deck, drainage and landscape.

Planning the Property

The work around the pool matters just as much.

Pool construction often touches access routes, grades, drainage, drawings, permits, engineering and the areas that connect the house to the water. We organize those considerations early so the build has a clear direction.

Homeowner Questions

Questions about custom pools

How do I choose between concrete/gunite and vinyl liner?+

The right choice depends on your property, the desired pool shape and depth, the surrounding construction and how you want the finished space to work. A consultation and site review are the right place to compare the two approaches.

Do you coordinate decks, coping and landscape work with the pool?+

Yes. Pool decks, coping, patio areas, grading, hardscape and planting can be planned as part of the wider project so the connections between each area are resolved before construction is underway.

Do projects need permits or engineering?+

Requirements vary by municipality and project scope. We discuss the relevant drawings, permit applications and engineering coordination during planning where they are required.

Where do you build custom pools?+

Masterpiece serves the GTA and select communities throughout Southern Ontario. Project feasibility depends on location, scope and scheduling.
